Hoarding, Filth, and Hermit Remediation

Over their lifespans, some people will collect massive amounts of clutter. Due to physical constrains or a mindsets, there are those who are unable to get rid of their clutter (or anything at all). Whether someone is a hoarder, or filth has just been unattended to makes no difference as to how the situation is to be managed.

Over years, unmanaged cluttered areas, filthy messes, and even stored goods can not only become a burden in size and depth, but can also become a serious health risk. Animal, plant, fungal, and bacterial life can infest unmonitored and unmanaged buildings. These problems must be handled by a trained professional who can not only remove the filth but can sanitize the building.

In addition, garbage, trash, and other rubbish can create fire hazards by obstructing walkways and generally by being flammable. In many situations, a recluse will have enough dust and dirt to merritt protective gear ( without accounting for any spores, insects, viruses, bacteria, or foul smells).

Paper, for example, can be an extreme problem in large quantities when stored over years.  Not only is it flamable, but the cellulose is a great source of food for all sorts of troublesome life. Paper easily holds water which can promote the growth of mold and algae. It comes in all shapes in sizes that many people can’t bring themselves to get rid of from book and letters to cardboard boxes and cups.
