Vehicle Cleaning and Decontamination
Cleaning blood or other bodily fluids our most vehicles for health is not recommended.
Cars have padding, upholstery, and matting that trap fluids. Deaths in vehicles can be especially gruesome to witness, clean, and sanitize. The 29CFR1910.1030 regulations dictate that all of this has to be removed and replaced. The costs involved in doing so can be extremely high.
That said, sometimes a vehicle is so precious or so useful that the cost to restore a vehicle for health has merit. Emergency response and construction vehicles, for example, are often in high-risk situations as well as have a specialized use and value not easily replaced by another vehicle.
